Professional Profile
Dr Srinivas Nammi has completed all his academic degrees at Andhra University, in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, India. Dr Nammi was awarded GATE Fellowship by the Ministry of Human Resource, Government of India, to complete his postgraduate degree by research in Pharmacology. He worked for one year as a Pharmacologist in Chemiloids, an herbal drug company in India wherein he closely associated with the establishment of a Pharmacology research laboratory. Dr Nammi was also awarded Senior Research Fellowship by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Government of India, to pursue his PhD studies in Pharmacology. After completion of his PhD in 2003, Dr Nammi was awarded DAAD Scholarship to pursue his postdoctoral training in Germany at the Institute of Physiology, University of Tuebingen. Later on, to strengthen his research expertise he moved to Canada and worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Section of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Department of Internal Medicine, University of Manitoba. In July 2006, Dr Nammi joined the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Sydney as a SESQUI Research Fellow after having succeeded in the University of Sydney Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme.
Dr Nammi has worked in diversified research areas and published good number of research and review papers. So far, he published 33 publications to his credit in peer-reviewed Biomedical Journals. He is associated with several professional societies and is also a reviewer for Journals such as Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, BMC Pharmacology, BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Journal of Ethnopharmacology, Indian Journal of Pharmacology and Journal of Medical and Biological Sciences.
