Controlled Release Dry Powder Inhalation Formulations.
This project aims at particle engineering of powders with different release modifying polymeric materials to reach controlled release profiles for the delivery of both local and systemic medicines to the respiratory tract. Furthermore, this project deals with developing new methodologies for the in vitro testing of these systems’ release rates in comparison with the available relevant methods. An in vitro - in vivo correlation using animal pharmacokinetic studies will help better understanding the performance and release behaviour of the active entities using the developed in vitro methods.
